Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar emphasized the resilience of our nation against terrorism on the 9th anniversary of the Army Public School Peshawar tragedy. Reflecting on the incident, Kakar noted that despite the enemy’s attempt to undermine the nation’s morale in the war against terrorism, the people stood firm.
Nine years ago, the tragic events at APS brought the world to tears, but the Prime Minister acknowledged that the nation’s determination had only grown stronger. He extended sympathies to the parents who lost children in the tragedy and praised the bravery of Principal Tahira Qazi and other teachers who sacrificed their lives to shield the students.
Kakar asserted that terrorists could never defeat a nation with individuals like Shaheed Tahira Qazi and Shaheed Aitzaz Hasan, who selflessly risked their lives to save others. He declared that the war on terror had been won, thwarting the enemy’s attempts to sow chaos in the country.
Expressing pride in the nation’s martyrs and their families, Kakar acknowledged the collective strength that has emerged from the painful memory of the APS tragedy. He affirmed the nation’s unity against the menace of terrorism and reiterated support for security forces until justice is served against all miscreants.
The Prime Minister paid tribute to the security forces, including the police, rangers, and Pak Army, for their relentless efforts in hunting down terrorists and bringing them to justice. In a clear message to terrorists and enemies of Pakistan’s peace, Kakar emphasized the unwavering unity of the Pakistani nation.
