Islamabad: It has been revealed that Pakistanis are involved in 50 percent of the total crimes committed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis, chaired by Senator Zeeshan Khanzada, the committee sought details of 4,000 employment companies. During the session, the Secretary of the Ministry of Overseas stated that two million Pakistanis currently send $7 billion in foreign exchange annually from Saudi Arabia. Recently, an agreement was signed with Saudi Arabia regarding workers, stipulating that beggars, the sick, and unskilled individuals should not be sent.
Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that Pakistanis are significantly involved in criminal activities abroad, with 50 percent of crimes in the UAE being committed by Pakistani nationals. Due to the behavior of some Pakistani citizens, countries often prefer workers from other nationalities.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs further noted that 35 percent of those traveling abroad are detected upon arrival at the airport. Additionally, Saudi Arabia has requested 10,000 bike delivery boys from Pakistan.
