ISLAMABAD: Cement exports experienced a significant surge, increasing by 35.92% during the first ten months of the 2023-24 fiscal year compared to the same period last year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
In monetary terms, exports reached US $204.546 million from July to April (2023-24), a substantial rise from US $150.488 million recorded during the same period in the previous fiscal year.
In terms of volume, cement exports saw a remarkable increase of 63.51%, rising from 3,242,161 metric tons to 5,301,161 metric tons, as per the provided data.
On a year-on-year basis, cement exports in April 2024 surged by 66.61% compared to April of the preceding year. Exports for April 2024 reached US $25.074 million, a significant increase from US $15.049 million in April 2023.
Additionally, there was a notable month-on-month increase of 61.02% in cement exports during April 2024 compared to March 2024, with exports climbing from US $15.572 million in March to US $25.074 million in April, as revealed by PBS data.
