RISALPUR: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said on Tuesday that Pakistan is a peace-loving nation, desiring friendly relations with all countries, especially its neighbors. However, he made it clear that the country’s pursuit of peace should not be perceived as weakness.
Addressing the graduation ceremony of officers at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Academy Asghar Khan in Risalpur, the PM stated that peace in the region is contingent on the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute between Pakistan and India. He firmly asserted, “There can be no peace without the settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir issue.”
The prime minister strongly condemned the ongoing human rights violations in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. While affirming that Pakistan would not engage in an arms race, he emphasized the country’s commitment to enhancing its capabilities in line with evolving technology to deter any aggression.
PM Kakar underscored the impact of the rapidly changing geo-strategic environment on Pakistan and the region, calling for advancements in space networks, cyber technology, nano-technology, and artificial intelligence.
Expressing satisfaction with PAF’s modernization through the smart induction of cutting-edge technology, he lauded the armed forces as professionally competent and well-trained to handle internal and external challenges.
The prime minister assured the nation that Pakistan, with its brave armed forces, has overcome challenges in the past and will continue to do so, ensuring prosperity for the country.
During the ceremony, PM Kakar congratulated the graduates, urging them to stay abreast of modern technology and trends related to modern warfare. The PAF graduates included 148 General Duty Pilots, 94 Aeronautical Engineers, 104 air defense, and 130 combat support course officers.
Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu received the prime minister, and a thrilling fly-past of PAF jets, including Mirage, F-7P, JF-17 Thunder, and J-10C, was witnessed during the event.
