ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar launched a dossier on the exploitation of religious minorities in India during a seminar titled ‘Margalla Dialogue’ at a policy research institute in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Addressing the seminar, Kakar asserted that India is accountable for fostering hostility and instability in the region. According to the dossier, India has been implicated in brutality against minorities since 2014, with 294 reported incidents of hatred in 2021 alone.
The document highlighted attacks on historical mosques and the burning of hundreds of churches in Manipur state, India. It also revealed that the government of India took over 24,496 religious sites in Occupied Kashmir.
The dossier called on international powers to compel India to cease human rights violations. PM Kakar emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to international peace, stating, “Pakistan is emerging as a responsible state, and we’ll continue playing our role for international peace.”
Discussing climate change, the caretaker prime minister emphasized the need for robust collaboration globally to combat this challenge. Kakar urged world powers to address the Kashmir and Palestine issues, condemning Israel for committing genocide in Palestine, particularly against innocent children.
He emphasized the necessity for justice for the Palestinians, stating, “The world must ensure justice for the Palestinians.”
