ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) President Parvez Elahi on Friday advised fellow politicians on Friday, suggesting that they should consider seeking protective bail ahead of the upcoming general elections, given the current political situation.
Talking to reporters on the occasion of his appearance in the anti-terrorism court (ATC), he complained that he was sick because of jail’s meal and the medical facilities was also not up to the mark.
The former Punjab chief minister said high inflation in the country had almost shattered the man in the street, adding PML-N top leaders — Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif — were responsible for exorbitant power tariff.
He said as the entire system of the country was at a standstill owing to non-holding of general elections, all the politicians should secure protective bails before the general elections.
When asked if would be released from jail before the polls, the PTI leader told a reporter that only Allah Almighty knows best about his release.
He further said he was unable to comment over any backdoor talks with the PTI chairman, adding he [Elahi] met Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain again.
To a question, Elahi said he heard the new date of Nawaz Sharif’s return to the country was being set.
