Passenger coach falls into ravine in Balochistan

At least 40 people were killed and several others injured after a passenger coach fell into a ravine in Balochistan on Friday, officials said.

The bus was travelling from Quetta to Peshawar when it crashed in the mountainous Dana Sar area between Zhob and Dera Ismail Khan.

Deputy Commissioner Sherani Wali Kakar said rescue teams were continuing efforts to reach the victims despite the difficult terrain.

“The rescue operation is underway, and the injured are receiving immediate medical assistance before being shifted to nearby hospitals,” Kakar said. He added that the district administration was closely monitoring the situation and that the final death toll would be confirmed after the rescue operation ends.

Health authorities declared an emergency at nearby hospitals in Balochistan to ensure prompt treatment for those injured in the crash.

Officials said rescue workers remained at the scene as efforts continued to evacuate the injured and recover the remaining victims.
