Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to auction the Multan Sultans franchise, following the successful sale of the remaining two franchises of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
According to sources, the decision to auction Multan Sultans was taken after record-breaking bids and strong interest from foreign investors in the recent PSL franchise sales. The PCB is expected to issue an advertisement soon to formally invite bids for the franchise.
The Multan Sultans franchise will be sold through an open auction, similar to the process adopted for the otherMultan Sultans auction two franchises. All eligible bidders will be allowed to participate in the auction under the same terms and conditions.
Sources further said that Multan Sultans are likely to feature in PSL Season 11 under new ownership, marking a major development in the league’s expansion and commercial growth.
It is worth recalling that the PCB had earlier announced it would operate the Multan Sultans franchise itself for PSL Season 11, but the board later reviewed its decision in light of growing investor interest.
