The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in Lahore has issued a warning regarding an impending spell of heavy rains and hailstorms across various districts of Punjab.
According to a spokesperson from PDMA, stormy weather is forecasted to sweep through numerous areas of the province, bringing with it hailstorms and thunderous showers.
Anticipated to be affected are cities such as Murree, Guliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, and Gujarat, among others. Additionally, Lahore, Kasur, Faisalabad, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Toba Tek Singh, Mianwali, Khushab, Okara, Narowal, Pakpattan, Sahiwal, Jhang, and Sargodha are expected to experience rainfall.
The spokesperson stressed that most districts would witness rainfall coupled with hailstorms, urging residents to take precautionary measures to ensure their safety and mitigate potential damage.
The extreme weather conditions are projected to persist until Wednesday before clearing up, leaving dry conditions in their wake. In response to these forecasts, a 24-hour alert has been issued by the administration, as per the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz and the Director General (DG) of PDMA.
Residents have been advised to refrain from unnecessary travel, stay indoors, and safeguard their belongings to minimize the impact of the expected adverse weather conditions.
