Pervaiz Elahi Says PML N Now Contests Elections Without Voters has become one of the most searched political headlines today, as the PTI leader sharply criticised the ruling party after his court appearance in Lahore. His comments sparked fresh debate on voter turnout, election credibility, and the ongoing political crisis in Pakistan.
Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi addressed the media after attending a money laundering hearing at the FIA Central Court. The case was heard by Judge Arif Khan Niazi. The judge reserved the verdict after arguments from both sides but adjourned the proceedings until December 18 for further submissions.
Elahi accused the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz of becoming comfortable with elections that lack public participation. He said that a true democratic process must involve active voters and meaningful turnout. He added that elections with less than twenty percent turnout should be declared invalid.
He stressed that voters form the core of any election. He argued that without them, the process loses legitimacy and credibility.
PTI Leader Links Low Turnout to Public Disillusionment
Elahi highlighted the low turnout in recent by elections. He said that widespread public frustration had led to passive participation and boycotts. He linked the discontent to the imprisonment of PTI founder Imran Khan, who has remained in jail for more than two years.
Elahi urged supporters to pray for Khan’s release. He said that Khan feared nothing and that supporters should also stay firm.
The PTI leader acknowledged that he faces several legal challenges. Despite the ongoing cases, he said he continues to participate in political activities. He confirmed his active involvement in the bar council elections and insisted that he remains committed to political engagement.
