PESHAWAR: TransPeshawar, the operator of Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), expanded route DR-14 on Monday with six additional stops along Nasir Bagh Road to enhance service.
Responding to public demand, TransPeshawar spokesperson Sadaf Kamil stated, “These new stops have been introduced to improve accessibility.”
The newly added stops include Masjid Abu Hurairah, Bangash Park, PDA Office, Masjid Umar Farooq, Masjid Abu Bakr, and Professor Model Town, bringing the total stops on route DR-14 to 22.
Route DR-14 runs from Islamia College to DHA, covering key stops such as Naseer Teaching Hospital, PSO Stop, Police Colony, Askari 6 Phase 2, and others. According to Kamil, these changes aim to enhance convenience for residents of areas like Regi Model Town, DHA, Canal Town, Police Colony, and students of local universities.
The KP government has allocated Rs3 billion in subsidies for the Peshawar BRT, with recent fare increases of Rs5 to Rs10 aimed at covering operational costs.
