PESHAWAR: Families who lost children in the Peshawar school tragedy received financial relief on Friday, as the Deputy Commissioner of Peshawar personally delivered compensation cheques to their homes. The visit followed a special directive from the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In total, cheques worth Rs19 million were distributed among the parents of the martyred children to support them financially during this difficult time.
Deputy Commissioner Spends the Day With Bereaved Families
The Deputy Commissioner did not limit the visit to a formal handover. He met the affected families one by one, listened to them, and shared in their sorrow.
Officials said the gesture was meant to show the families that the administration stands with them, and that the response goes beyond paperwork and payments.
Aid for Injured Children Within One Day
Attention is now turning to the children hurt in the Peshawar school tragedy. Teams from the district administration are on the ground, preparing final lists of all injured children and verifying each entry.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Peshawar, financial assistance for the injured will be delivered within one day of the verification of their details. The verification step is meant to make sure every eligible child is accounted for and that support reaches the right families without delay.
For the families affected, no amount of money can make up for the loss. Still, the swift relief effort offers some practical support while the administration continues its work on the ground.
