Peshawar University Hostels: 190 Rooms Illegally Occupied

Around 190 rooms in Peshawar University hostels are being occupied illegally, according to reports. The rooms are held by leaders of several student organizations, and many of them are no longer students at the university, Khyber News reported.

Among the groups named is the Insaf Students Federation (ISF), which is backed by the PTI provincial government.

Occupants Reportedly Not Paying Rent

Sources say the student leaders living in these rooms are not paying any rent for them. The claim comes from unnamed sources and has not been independently confirmed.

Room Shortage Hits Newly Admitted Students

The occupation has created a serious shortage of hostel rooms for students who have just been admitted. Those who are currently enrolled and need accommodation are the ones paying the price.

University Administration Hesitant to Act

The Peshawar University administration has so far been reluctant to take any action against those occupying the rooms, according to the report. As a result, the problem at the Peshawar University hostels remains unresolved.
