Peshawar Zalmi owner buys ‘Afridi 1’ plate for Rs140m

Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi has purchased the personalized vehicle registration number ‘Afridi 1’ for Rs140.5 million during a high-profile auction of premium number plates in Peshawar.

The auction, held at Nishtar Hall, attracted massive public interest as several personalized and choice number plates were sold for record-breaking prices.

According to officials, the ‘Wazir 1’ number plate emerged as the most expensive of the event, fetching Rs150 million. Meanwhile, the ‘Afridi 1’ plate drew intense bidding before being secured by Javed Afridi, a prominent businessman and owner of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Peshawar Zalmi.

Another popular plate, ‘Khan 1’, was sold for Rs111 million to Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Naik Muhammad Khan.

Bidding for several other premium number plates is still underway at Nishtar Hall. Authorities confirmed that all proceeds from the auction will be deposited into the government treasury.
