Petition Filed Against Saba Qamar for Wearing Punjab Police Uniform

Saba Qamar police uniform case

Renowned Pakistani actress Saba Qamar has landed in controversy after wearing a Punjab Police uniform during a video shoot, prompting a legal petition seeking the registration of a criminal case against her.

According to details, a petition has been filed in Lahore against the actress for allegedly wearing a police uniform without official permission. The case came up for hearing before Additional Sessions Judge Ilyas Rehan.

The petitioner, Waseem Zawar, argued that a video circulating on social media shows Saba Qamar dressed in a Punjab Police uniform inside a dressing room. He further claimed that the actress was wearing an SP rank badge, which, according to the petitioner, is a violation of the law.

The petitioner maintained that wearing a police uniform for filming or promotional purposes requires a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the concerned police authorities, which was not obtained in this case.

He further stated that an application was submitted to Thana Purani Anarkali for the registration of a case, but no action was taken by the police, leading him to approach the court.

After initial proceedings, the court adjourned the hearing and directed that the matter be taken up again on January 14.
