ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan Friday scheduled for hearing the petition to declare the general elections of February 8, 2024 null and void.
According to the details, a three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faiz Isa, will hear the application from Monday, February 19.
Apart from the Chief Justice Qazi Faez, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Musrat Hilali will also be part of the three-member bench.
This petition was filed four days ago in the Supreme Court on behalf of a citizen named Ali Khan.
In the petition, the federal government and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) were requested to stop the process of forming the government as a result of the February 8 elections and order new elections to be held within 30 days under the supervision of the judiciary.
It was further requested in the petition that rigging, investigation of election fraud and orders to take action against those responsible.
