PHC moved for shifting Asma Rani case from Kohat to Peshawar

PHC requested for transferring Asma murder case to Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The brother of Asma Rani, shot dead in Kohat over matrimonial issue, has moved the Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Friday requesting the court to shift the case from Kohat to Peshawar.
In his petition, brother of the deceased girls has stated that the murderer of his sister belonged to an influential family and was threatening them.
Citing the threats, he informed the court that no lawyer was ready to represent their family in court in Kohat.
The PHC summoned the police official investigating the murder of Asma Rani along with record of the case on next hearing.
Earlier this week, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar directed the authorities concerned to ensure the arrest of absconding prime accused, Mujahidullah Afridi, in Asma Rani murder case within a month.
Asma Rani, a third year student of Ayub Medical College, was shot dead by Mujahid Afridi in January after she rejected a marriage proposal of the accused.
