KARACHI: Passengers faced significant disruptions on Friday as eighteen domestic and international flights operated by the national airline were canceled, causing inconvenience to travelers. Karachi bore the brunt of the impact, with 14 flights to and from the city experiencing unusual delays.
The cancellations have affected major routes, disrupting travel between Karachi and various destinations, including Lahore, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Quetta. Passengers were left stranded as flights like PK 308 and PK 368 destined for Islamabad were among those canceled.
International routes were not spared, as flights from Dammam, Muscat, Lahore, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Quetta heading to Karachi were canceled. PK 319 and PK 369, scheduled to depart from Islamabad to Karachi, were also impacted.
Further complications arose with four flights departing from Islamabad to Sukkur and Quetta being canceled. Notably, PK 743 from Karachi to Medina experienced a significant delay of 6 hours and 20 minutes, causing inconvenience to passengers. Another flight, PK 735 to Jeddah, scheduled for 11 am, faced an astonishing 14-hour delay, adding to the frustrations of travelers.
Delays also affected a flight from Multan to Madinah, with a delay of 4 hours and 25 minutes. The cumulative effect of flight cancellations and delays has left both domestic and international travelers dealing with inconvenience and uncertainty regarding their travel plans.
