KARACHI: The ongoing national airline financial crisis in Islamabad persists, with the crucial fuel issue yet to find resolution. The aircraft fuel allocation system has resulted in a limited number of planes receiving fuel, leading to the cancellation of 45 Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flights on October 24.
Among the affected flights are PK300, PK301, PK368, and PK369 from Karachi to Islamabad, as well as PK501 and PK502 from Karachi to Turbat. Lahore flights PK302, PK303, and PK306 are also canceled. Additional cancellations include Karachi to Sukkur (PK536 and PK537), Karachi to Quetta (PK310 and PK311), Dammam to Karachi (PK242), and Lahore to Quetta (PK322 and PK323).
Flights from Islamabad to Dubai (PK233 and PK211), Abu Dhabi (PK261 and PK262), Gilgit (PK601, PK602, PK605, and PK606), Quetta (PK325 and PK326), Skardu (PK451 and PK452), Sukkur (PK631 and PK632), and Doha to Islamabad (PK288) are also affected.
Multan to Riyadh (PK765 and PK766), Dubai (PK221), Sharjah to Multan (PK294), Sialkot to Sharjah (PK209 and PK210), Peshawar to Riyadh (PK727 and PK728), Sharjah to Dubai (PK257 and PK258), and Abu Dhabi to Peshawar (PK217 and PK218) are among the canceled flights.
This follows the cancellation of 27 domestic and international PIA flights on the previous day.
