PISHIN: A powerful explosion in Pishin city, Balochistan, claimed the lives of two children and injured 12 others, including five police officers.
Local authorities reported that the blast occurred on Saturday near Police Lines, causing significant damage to a car and a motorcycle in the area. The injured, along with the bodies of the two children, were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Investigators believe that the target of the explosion was a police patrol car. The exact cause and nature of the blast are still under investigation, and security forces have cordoned off the area to collect evidence and prevent further incidents.
This tragic event follows another attack just a month earlier, in which a bomb targeted a vehicle belonging to the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Khushdil Khan Road in Pishin district. That incident resulted in injuries to a security guard, while the station house officer (SHO) of the CTD narrowly escaped harm.
The recent explosion has heightened concerns about ongoing security challenges in the region. In response, local authorities have intensified security measures and launched an investigation to identify those responsible for the attack.
