PM directs fool-proof security for contesting candidates

Interim federal cabinet meeting underway, important decisions on cards

PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Justice (Retd) Nasir-ul-Mulk Thursday directed fool-proof security arrangements for contesting candidates particularly the top leadership of all political parties for July 25, general elections.
He who visited the provincial capital on a day-long visit reviewed the security measures being taken by the provincial government in the wake of the recent terrorist incident at Peshawar in which 22 people lost their lives, including ANP leader Haroon Bilour.
The prime minister expressed deep grief and concern over the loss of precious lives in the suicide attack.
He held meetings with Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and caretaker Chief Minister Justice (Retd) Dost Muhammad Khan. Interior Minister Azam Khan also accompanied the prime minister.
The prime minister was briefed about the security measures taken by the provincial government.
