BEIJNING: Pakistan caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar on Tuesday underscored Islamabad’s unwavering commitment to its strong ties with China during the CPEC roundtable meeting in Beijing. Kakar emphasizes the enduring Pak-China friendship and hails the transformative impact of the multi-billion-dollar CPEC project on Pakistan’s landscape over the past decade.
Attributing the changing working landscape of Pakistan to CPEC, Kakar highlights the project’s role in advancing the national agenda for sustainable development. He emphasizes CPEC’s modernization of Pakistan’s infrastructure, providing development opportunities for the youth and playing a pivotal role in employment generation, poverty reduction, and rural development.
Addressing the audience, Kakar described CPEC as a source of development and prosperity, particularly for the people of Balochistan, symbolizing the strategic trust between China and Pakistan. He expresses determination to extend CPEC to Afghanistan, fostering regional development, and positioning Gwadar as a central hub.

Kakar welcomes new partners to benefit from the project and outlines significant achievements under CPEC, including the construction of 800 kilometers of new roads, a highways network, and the addition of 8,000 megawatts to the national grid. More than 200,000 job opportunities have been created, and he invites Chinese investors to participate in green energy projects.
The Prime Minister emphasizes the improvement of the trade corridor between Xinjiang and Gilgit-Baltistan, highlighting the importance of the visit to Ürümqi city for potential investments in Pakistan. After the meeting, Kakar shares his pride in the progress made, reflecting on the socio-economic advancements and strengthened bonds with China.
