Pakistan stepped up its diplomatic efforts as PM Shehbaz calls MBS to discuss the worsening situation in the Middle East. During the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged an immediate end to hostilities and called for a return to normalcy in the region.
The prime minister strongly condemned the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia and expressed full solidarity with the Kingdom and its people. He assured that Pakistan stands firmly with Saudi Arabia, especially during these difficult times. When PM Shehbaz calls MBS, he also appreciated Saudi leadership for showing restraint despite rising tensions.
He stressed the need for unity among Muslim countries and said this was the time for harmony within the Ummah. The premier highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic outreach and its efforts to encourage dialogue and peaceful solutions between all parties involved.
The Saudi Crown Prince acknowledged Pakistan’s peace efforts and welcomed its role in promoting stability. Both sides agreed to stay in close contact and continue coordination at all levels.
In a separate message, the prime minister also conveyed Eid greetings to Saudi leadership and people, while once again reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support. The moment when PM Shehbaz calls MBS comes at a critical time, as tensions in the Middle East continue to rise following recent military exchanges involving the US, Israel, and Iran.
Pakistan has also offered to facilitate talks between the US and Iran, signaling its intent to play a constructive role in easing tensions. Over the past few days, Islamabad has actively engaged in back-channel diplomacy alongside regional partners to prevent further escalation.
