For the first in the history, Finance Minister has excluded from the Council of Common Interests (CCI) while foreign Minister included in CCI.
As per details, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has included Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar while excluded Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb n the composition of the reconstituted the Council.
As outlined in the notification, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will chair the eight-member CCI, with the four chief ministers serving as members.
In a departure from previous practices, the council’s makeup now includes notable federal ministers such as Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, and SAFRON Minister Amir Muqam.
The inclusion of Foreign Minister Dar in the council is particularly noteworthy, representing a historic shift. This marks the first time a foreign minister has been appointed as a member, replacing the traditional role of the finance minister.
The Council of Common Interests officially commenced its operations on March 21, as per the notification. Its establishment paves the way for enhanced dialogue, coordination, and decision-making processes aimed at tackling shared challenges and promoting equitable development across all provinces.
