ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended an invitation to Chinese investors to establish industries in Pakistan, underscoring China’s vital role in Pakistan’s economic development.
Chairing a high-level review meeting focused on enhancing Pakistan-China cooperation across various sectors, the premier emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral economic relations. The meeting included discussions on proposals to deepen collaboration between the two nations.
Highlighting the potential in agriculture, information technology, and energy, Prime Minister Sharif expressed a desire to boost Pakistani exports to China. He assured Chinese industrialists and investors of comprehensive support, including robust security measures for Chinese residents in Pakistan, reflecting the government’s commitment to their safety.
The Prime Minister also emphasized preparations for the next phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), with plans to develop Gwadar port into a logistics hub in partnership with China. He highlighted the establishment of Agriculture Demonstration Zones under CPEC as a significant project.
As a result of the meeting, relevant ministries were directed to prepare for new projects and initiatives to foster business-to-business relations between Pakistan and China. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed the importance of proactive measures to enhance economic ties and ensure the successful implementation of mutually beneficial projects.
