ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed for New York on Monday from London to participate in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, cabinet ministers, and senior officials, the premier will lead Pakistan’s delegation to the high-level UNGA meetings scheduled for today.
PM Shehbaz Sharif UNGA 80th Session Speech
During his address at the UNGA 80th Session, the prime minister will:

Reiterate Pakistan’s demand for the resolution of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) dispute.

Urge decisive action to end the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza.

Present Pakistan’s perspective on climate change, terrorism, Islamophobia, sustainable development, and regional security.
Key Sideline Meetings
According to the Foreign Office, PM Shehbaz will:
- Attend a meeting of select Muslim leaders with US President Donald Trump to discuss regional and international peace.
- Participate in high-level UN events, including:
- UN Security Council sessions
- The Global Development Initiative (GDI) meeting
- Special High-Level Event on Climate Action
