Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Abu Dhabi for a two-day official visit, where he is set to deliver a keynote address at the World Government Summit (WGS) in Dubai. This visit marks the second time PM Shehbaz has traveled to the UAE since taking office in March 2024.
Upon his arrival, the prime minister held meetings with senior Emirati officials and is scheduled to engage with prominent business figures from both Pakistan and the UAE. His keynote speech at the summit will focus on Pakistan’s vision for inclusive economic growth, digital transformation, and governance reforms.
A Foreign Office spokesperson emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “The summit will bring together numerous heads of state, global policymakers, and leading private sector representatives to discuss the future of governance, innovation, and international cooperation.”
The prime minister is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and other key cabinet members. The visit reflects Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its ties with the UAE and strengthening partnerships with other global stakeholders.
During his visit, PM Shehbaz will hold bilateral meetings with UAE leaders and engage with heads of state and CEOs of major multinational companies. Discussions are expected to focus on enhancing economic collaboration and exploring new areas of partnership.
Highlighting the close relationship between the two nations, the Foreign Office stated, “Pakistan and the UAE share a deep-rooted brotherly relationship based on mutual trust and beneficial cooperation. The UAE remains one of Pakistan’s key economic and strategic partners, with strong collaboration across various sectors.”
