Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to embark on a two-day journey to Saudi Arabia today, where he will participate in a special meeting of the World Economic Forum on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development in Riyadh.
During his visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz is scheduled to meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss bilateral ties and the upcoming visit of the Saudi premier to Pakistan.
Additionally, Prime Minister Shehbaz is expected to hold talks with the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, regarding a new economic package.
Accompanied by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and other senior officials, Prime Minister Shehbaz will also meet with Bill Gates.
This visit marks Prime Minister Shehbaz’s return to Saudi Arabia during his second term as PM earlier this month.
During his previous visit, Prime Minister Sharif engaged in discussions with Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, focusing on strengthening fraternal relations between the two countries and exploring opportunities for increased collaboration across various sectors.
He also performed Umrah and offered Nawafil inside the Ka’aba, having been granted special access as a gesture of goodwill.
Later, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud visited Pakistan to discuss investment projects.
During these interactions, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed profound appreciation for the leadership of Saudi Arabia and conveyed heartfelt wishes to King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.
He briefed the delegation on the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and its initiatives aimed at promoting investment in Pakistan. He also underscored the vital role of Chief of the Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and the cooperation of all institutions in fostering investment in the country through SIFC.
