ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a televised address on Wednesday, strongly condemned Indian aggression that claimed 31 civilian lives and injured 57 more. He vowed that every drop of blood spilled would be avenged.
He declared that India had made a grave mistake by launching an unprovoked attack. “They thought we would stay silent,” he said, “but now they must face the consequences.”
The Prime Minister reminded the nation of its brave sons who always defended the country. “Pakistanis have always stood up for their homeland, even if it meant sacrificing their lives,” he said.
He pointed to the swift and powerful response by the Pakistan Air Force. Within hours, Pakistani pilots shot down five Indian jets. “The enemy, though larger in numbers, was forced to bow down,” he said. The destroyed aircraft were reduced to “fragments and ashes,” once a symbol of pride for India.
He added, “The sound of our counter-attack carried the thunder of Squadron Leader MM Alam,” referring to the legendary air force hero.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also spoke of Shaheed Irtaza Abbas. The seven-year-old boy was hit by a splinter in his own home, where he sat beside his mother and brother. “A delicate flower was crushed,” he said, paying tribute to the child and all the martyrs. The nation, he said, honors their sacrifice and prays for the wounded.
Calling India a “timid enemy,” he said that they target innocent civilians. But Pakistan has shown how to respond with strength and precision.
He described the one-hour battle on the Line of Control as a clear example of Pakistan’s air superiority. “Our pilots remained within our borders and still destroyed the enemy’s jets,” he said. It was a display of courage, skill, and discipline.
Prime Minister Shehbaz saluted the country’s military leadership. He named General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, General Asim Munir, Air Chief Zaheer Babar Sidhu, and Admiral Naveed Ashraf. “The whole nation stands behind our armed forces,” he said.
He criticized India’s baseless accusations regarding the Pahalgam attack. Pakistan, he said, had offered an open, international investigation. The world recognized Pakistan’s transparency. Yet, India responded with hostility, violating international laws and norms.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s position, the Prime Minister said Kashmir remains a disputed region under international law. “No matter how many decisions India takes, it cannot erase the truth,” he said. Kashmir’s status can only change when its people are allowed to vote freely, as per United Nations resolutions.
He also reminded the world of Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war on terror. Over 90,000 lives were lost. Damages reached $152 billion. “India believes this aggression will shift our focus,” he said. “But we are committed to ending terrorism once and for all.”
He concluded with a powerful message of unity. “To defend our sovereignty and dignity, the armed forces and the people of Pakistan are united,” he said. The nation, he stressed, fully supports its military and will defeat the enemy together.
Indian aggression has once again tested Pakistan’s resolve. And once again, Pakistan has shown it cannot be broken.
