Lahore, the capital of Punjab, is facing a troubling surge in pneumonia cases, with recent reports indicating a distressing toll of 19 deaths within just one week.
Over the past 24 hours alone, ten individuals have succumbed to pneumonia in the Punjab region, contributing to a total of 55 pneumonia-related deaths in the last 7 days.
Moreover, Lahore has reported an alarming addition of 62 new pneumonia cases within the past 24 hours.
Responding to this health crisis, Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi took action on January 10th by extending winter vacations for nursery and prep students in the region.
These vacations, initially set to end earlier, are now scheduled to last until January 19, 2024, following the tragic death of 36 children in Punjab within the first 10 days of January due to pneumonia.
