A police official was shot dead in the Inayat Kalay Bazaar area of Bajaur district after unidentified armed men opened fire on him, police sources confirmed. The slain officer has been identified as Rehmatullah.
According to police, Rehmatullah belonged to the Lagharay area in Bajaur’s Mamond tehsil. He was on his way home while on leave when he came under fire from unknown assailants at Inayat Kalay Bazaar. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Body Shifted to Hospital
Following the incident, police moved the officer’s body to DHQ Hospital Khar for a post-mortem examination.
As soon as news of the firing spread, police cordoned off the area and began collecting evidence from the scene. Investigators are now working to trace and identify those responsible for the attack.
Officials say further details about the motive behind the killing, as well as the identity of the attackers, will emerge once the investigation is complete.
