Polio worker shot dead in Khyber Agency

JAMRUD: Unknown armed men on Wednesday attacked a polio team in Khyber Agency’s Jamrud area, killing a polio worker.
As per details, polio team was in the area of Jamrud Teshil to vaccinate anti-polio drops to children when unknown armed men attacked them. As result, a official identified as Fazal Amin critically injured in the gun attack.
The injured polio worker was taken to the Hayatabad Medical Complex in the critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries.
Polio vaccination drives are underway across Pakistan, one of only two polio endemic countries left in the world.
A policeman was killed and two others suffered injuries when an explosion hit a police party providing security to a polio vaccination team near Peshawar on Tuesday.
