ISLAMABAD: The parliamentary leaders at a meeting being chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad have given a lucid message of unity against the Indian belligerence.
In their remarks, they declared that the entire nation stands together when it comes to Kashmir issue and the Indian aggression.
In his remarks, Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq said that the Prime Minister’s UNGA speech was highly reflective of the sentiments of the people of Pakistan. He said the political parties stand by the government and the valiant armed forces at this critical juncture. He said that the meeting should formulate a unified message today in the national interest.
JUI Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that we need to forge national unity at this critical moment and collective voice and resolve of the entire nation is need of the hour. He said we need to denounce and highlight the brutal state oppression in IOK at political and diplomatic level.
Fazlur Rehman said that the meeting sent a very positive and constructive message the world over. He said our stance on Kashmir reflects the sentiments of the nation and the people of Indian occupied Kashmir, and it is very principled stance.
JUI Chief said Prime Minister’s initiative to send special envoys in important world capitals is commendable. Our political and diplomatic force need to build upon the momentum, generated by the recent Kashmiri uprising.
PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmoud Qureshi said today’s moot conveys a clear message to India and the international community that the country’s political parties are united in their stance on Kashmir dispute. He appreciated the Prime Minister’s comprehensive speech at the United Nations saying the present government has taken positive steps regarding improvement in relations with India but regrettably, the other side has not reciprocated.
Shah Mehmoud Qureshi said that the oppressed Kashmiri people have stood up against the Indian atrocities. He said India understands that there is no military solution to the dispute but still it is resorting to belligerence. He said Pakistan is not isolated at the diplomatic front. He regretted the postponement of the SAARC Summit.
The PTI leader said that Indian statements regarding revocation of Indus Water Treaty are unfortunate.
In his remarks, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that despite differences with government on multiple issues, his party stands shoulder to shoulder with it on Kashmir issue and the Indian aggression.
He said this is a turning point in Indo-Pak relations. A united Pakistan can counter Indian aggression. He said by working together we can achieve our national security goals.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said there is no military solution to the Kashmir dispute. He said that standing by the federal government in these matters despite political differences is PPP’s clear stance.
Awami National Party’s (ANP) Haji Ghulam Ahmad Balour said that PM Nawaz’s speech in United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) opened new ways for the solution of Kashmir issue on diplomatic front.
The meeting was summoned to prepare a joint response on Indian-held Kashmir and the latest situation along the Line of Control.
All the political parties in the parliament attended the meeting giving the message that the entire nation is united when it comes to the defense of country.
