QUETTA: Following an agreement between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on federal government issues, the contours of the provincial government in Balochistan are becoming clearer.
Media reports indicate the formation of a three-party coalition government in Balochistan, consisting of the PPP, PML-N, and Balochistan Awami Party (BAP).
It is expected that the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), National Party, Balochistan National Party (BNP), and BNP-Awami will form the opposition.
The Chief Minister’s announcement is anticipated within one to two days, following finalization of government formation matters.
The Chief Minister of Balochistan will be from the PPP, with senior ministers from the Muslim League-N.
The appointment of the Balochistan Governor will be made from the PML-N, while the Speaker of the Assembly and Deputy Speaker will be from the PML-N and BAP respectively, as per reports.
The Balochistan cabinet is projected to include six ministers each from the PPP and PML-N, with two ministers from the BAP. Advisors are expected to be appointed from the PPP and PML-N.
