President and PM hail security forces after a successful counter-terrorism operation in North Waziristan in which 22 militants were eliminated. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif both praised the armed forces for their swift and effective action against terrorist elements in the region.
The statement comes as President and PM hail security forces for carrying out a major operation in the Shewa area of North Waziristan. According to official sources, the militants belonged to Fitna al-Khawarij and were targeted during an intelligence-based operation.
President Zardari appreciated the professionalism and courage of the security forces. He said the militants were operating with alleged foreign backing and also used civilians as human shields, which he described as a clear act of brutality and inhuman conduct.
He further said the sacrifices of Pakistan’s security forces under the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign Azm-e-Istehkam reflect the nation’s strong commitment to eliminating terrorism from the country. The president reaffirmed that Pakistan would continue decisive action against all militant threats.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also paid strong tribute to the forces, stating that President and PM hail security forces reflects the nation’s unity and trust in its defence institutions. He said the successful operation demonstrates the effectiveness of Pakistan’s counter-terror strategy.
The prime minister said that under Azm-e-Istehkam, security forces are achieving major successes against terrorism. He added that the armed forces are standing like a “wall of steel” against extremist elements.
He reiterated that the government remains committed to ensuring lasting peace and stability in the country. He also stressed continued support for the armed forces in all counter-terrorism operations.
Both leaders expressed resolve that Pakistan will continue efforts to eliminate terrorism completely and protect national security through coordinated and sustained action.
