ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has directed to confer Hilal-e-Imtiaz on Arshad Nadeem, the gold medalist in Javelin Throw at the 2024 Olympics. The President will award the civil award to Arshad Nadeem in a special ceremony in recognition of his outstanding services in the field of sports.
Arshad Nadeem, known as the “Javelin King”, has brought pride to Pakistan by winning the gold medal. The President will award the civil award under Article 259(2) of the Constitution, which empowers the President to confer awards on Pakistani citizens for their outstanding services in various fields.
On the President’s direction, the President’s House has sent a letter to the Cabinet Division to award the civil award to Arshad Nadeem. The letter states that Arshad Nadeem has made the nation proud by his outstanding performance in the field of sports, and his brilliant success at the international level is a matter of pride for the nation. It further states that Arshad Nadeem has illuminated the name of Pakistan in the field of athletics.
