Previous governments ignore basic issues of masses in FRs: Abdullah Bettani

PESHAWAR: Abdullah Bettani, independent candidate from Frontier Region (FR) NA-51 constituency, on Friday said the most of the previous governments ignored issues being faced by masses in the Frontier Regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Addressing a public meeting in FR Tank Jandola, Abdullah alleged that the former MNAs didn’t carried out development work to fix water crisis, health and educational issues in the constituency which is the largest constituency in KP in term of territory. The constituency begins from boarding Balochistan crossing through, district DIK, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Kohat and end at Peshawar district.
Bettani said that literacy ratio in NA-51 is comparatively low to others constituencies of KP and Tribal districts and people will held their representatives accountable for poverty, unemployment, illiteracy and insufficient health services in the area.
He promised the people in gathering that he will raise the issue of the constituency at the assembly floor if elected.
It is worth mentioning that five best candidates are in run for contesting National Assembly seat from Frontier Regions NA-51. The election campaigns from the candidates are in full swing.
Spread on six FRs, Qaiser Jamal Afridi of PTI, Mufti Abdul Shakoor of MMA, former MNA Haji Baz Gul Afridi Independent, Shahi Khan Sherani of ANP and Abdullah Nangyal Bettani Independent are the main contenders for this constituency and anyone who get support of elders and strong tribes like Afridi and Bettani will get an edge over others.
The total population of the constituency is almost 200,000 including about 100,000 registered voters. Most of the tribal people of this constituency are associated with trade, livestock and some are employed overseas.
