KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has granted a four-day physical remand for Armaghan Qureshi, the prime suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case.
Earlier, the Sindh High Court approved all four applications regarding Armaghan’s remand, overturning the ATC’s previous decision that denied physical remand. The police had requested custody on charges including illegal weapon possession, kidnapping, and murder.
During the hearing, Armaghan was present in court alongside his father. Prosecutors detailed the case, revealing that Mustafa Amir was abducted on January 6, with his mother receiving a ransom demand of Rs 20 million. The police raided a bungalow on February 8, where they claim the suspect fired at officers, injuring two policemen.
Armaghan, however, denied involvement, claiming, “I have nothing to do with this.” He alleged police attempted to rob his house and framed him. When asked if he was tortured, he initially said yes but failed to provide any visible marks of abuse.
