LAHORE: Star-studded grand closing ceremony of Pakistan Super League 2017 was held on Sunday in Gaddafi Stadium ahead of the final match between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi.
Paratroopers of Pakistan Army demonstrated their skills as they landed in the ground to kick off the big night for Pakistan as well as international cricket.
Ali Zafar, Ali Azmat, Shehzad Roy and Fakhir set the stage of fire with crowd going bonkers in the stadium to celebrate the success of second installment of the league which is Pakistan’s first of its kind transnational annual cricket franchise.
Tickets for the event were sold out quickly after they went on sale leaving thousands of aspirants from across Pakistan and abroad distressed.
Ahmad Butt and Ayesha Omar hosted the event and numerous notable personalities from politics, entertainment and bureaucracy attended the event.
Chief Minister of Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif, Law Minister of Punjab, Rana Sanaullah, three ministers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government among others participated witnessed the ceremony.
As the ceremony kicked off, a tribute was paid to martyrs of Pakistan Army who rendered sacrifices of their lives for the homeland.
Shahid Afridi, Darren Sammy, Muhammad Hafeez and squad of Peshawar Zalmi toured the pitch and waved to the crowd as they hooted and rooted for the international stars.
Ahmad Shehzad among other members of Quetta Gladiators squad followed Zalmi in the ground.
