The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has launched a firm crackdown on fake Indian accounts involved in anti-Pakistan propaganda. This action comes amid growing tensions between India and Pakistan.
Sources confirmed that Pakistani authorities have detected several suspicious social media accounts. These accounts were actively spreading false content targeting Pakistan.
To tackle this coordinated digital assault, the PTA has started monitoring all major platforms around the clock. “We have reported 46 suspicious URLs to the concerned social media companies for blocking,” a PTA official stated.
The authority said that fighting anti-Pakistan propaganda online is a continuous battle. Indian-sponsored bots and fake profiles are using online platforms to mislead and provoke. PTA stressed that constant observation and quick response are essential.
Insiders at the PTA shared that all relevant Pakistani agencies are now working together to stop this organized misinformation drive. They confirmed that any account promoting falsehoods against Pakistan will be swiftly flagged and reported for action.
Officials added that several of these accounts are clearly linked to a structured digital campaign. Their main goal seems to be damaging Pakistan’s global image, especially after recent diplomatic strain between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
The PTA has also called on Pakistani citizens to help. People are being urged to report suspicious profiles and misleading content they come across. This, officials say, will help expose the wider network behind the anti-Pakistan propaganda.
Along with fake accounts, these networks are using bots to spread manipulated narratives. The PTA warned that ignoring such campaigns could allow misinformation to grow unchecked.
The regulatory body reaffirmed that defending the country’s digital space is just as important as securing its borders. As the disinformation war intensifies, the PTA remains on high alert to block and neutralize every attempt at anti-Pakistan propaganda.
