PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Wednesday withdrew its stay order against the Election Commission of Pakistan decision of taking back the Bat symbol of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Earlier on December 26, The PHC had suspended the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) declaration of the PTI’s intra-party polls as unconstitutional and the revocation of the party’s ‘bat’ election symbol.
A single-member bench comprising PHC’s Justice Ijaz Khan heard the petition of the ECP against its single bench ruling on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) electoral ‘bat’ symbol and intra-party elections.
The court accepted the ECP petition and withdrew its stay order and restored the ECP decision.
