Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Internal Accountability Committee has recommended that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur delegate authority over major transfers, appointments, and promotions. The committee advised that a three-member panel of administrative secretaries should handle these matters.
According to details, the accountability body formally communicated this proposal through an official letter. Committee member Musaddiq Abbasi was assigned to personally deliver it to Gandapur.
The suggested panel included the establishment secretary along with two other senior officials. The chairman of PTI Internal Accountability, Qazi Muhammad Anwar, addressed concerns about irregularities in official postings. He highlighted that corruption in transfers, postings, and promotions had been a recurring issue.
The committee also summoned provincial food minister Zahir Shah. During the meeting, members Qazi Muhammad Anwar, Musaddiq Abbasi, and Shah Farman questioned him regarding wheat procurement in the province. The minister admitted to lacking knowledge about certain aspects.
Emphasizing strict oversight, the PTI Internal Accountability panel insisted that ministers must answer all questions related to their departments. Shah was given a deadline to submit detailed responses and was instructed to appear before the committee again.
Anwar further disclosed that only five government departments had submitted records to the accountability body so far. He confirmed that all ministries were given a two-week deadline to provide their reports.
PTI Internal Accountability remains firm in ensuring transparency and addressing corruption concerns in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
