In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial government led by Tehreek-e-Insaf has spent over 81 crore rupees from the public treasury on the protest held on October 5. Sources say that an initial payment of Rs 23 crore was made for the protest. Now, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department has asked the Chief Secretary’s office to release the remaining funds, which total more than Rs 58 crore. These funds are meant for the upcoming protest on November 24. Some of this money will be used to pay off overdue bills from various contractors.
Critics argue that Tehreek-e-Insaf has pushed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the edge of destruction. They claim that the government is wasting public money on unnecessary protests. The critics also say that Chief Minister Ali Amin and the Tehreek-e-Insaf leadership are more focused on staging protests than working for the welfare of the people. The funds being spent, they argue, could be better used for development and improving the situation in the province. Instead, the money is being invested in activities that do not benefit the public and only harm the province and the country.
