Islamabad authorities have declared the CIA building in Sector I-9 as a sub-jail for detaining individuals arrested during the PTI protest. This decision, formalized through a notification by the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad under the Prisoners Act of 1894, was approved by the Ministry of Law and Parliamentary Affairs.
With police and Rangers deployed at critical points, including 26 No. Chungi, extensive preparations have been made to counter the PTI convoy heading toward the capital. Anti-riot measures, including tear gas and rubber bullets, are in place.
PTI’s protest is focused on four demands: the release of political prisoners, reversal of the 26th Constitutional Amendment, restoration of democracy, and recovery of the “stolen mandate.” Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has assured compliance with court directives to maintain peace and prevent protesters from entering Islamabad.
