ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday penned a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa concerning cases and political activities.
The letter asserts that PTI is facing restrictions in conducting independent political activities. Consequently, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is urged to ensure an impartial role in campaign activities alongside PTI.
Furthermore, the letter highlights the registration of false First Information Reports (FIRs) against PTI workers and leaders. Journalists are reportedly being targeted, hindering the election campaign, and leaders are facing arrests despite judicial orders.
The correspondence also raises concerns about the alleged forced change in political affiliations of PTI leaders and the pressuring of individuals to leave the party during press conferences.
