The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has recently established a new firm, registering with the US Department of Justice for fundraising and lobbying endeavors.
The newly elected chairman of PTI, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, was named as the foreign principal, although he expressed unawareness of this development when approached by the Hum Investigation Team.
Documents submitted to the Department of Justice on December 8, 2023, outline the firm’s objectives, focusing on democratic reform, financial and educational elevation, improved economic and production levels, and fostering harmony among Pakistani citizens with the US.
Registered under the PTI Chicago Chapter, the firm, bearing registration number 7351, was founded on December 2, 2023, by American nationals Raja Muhammad Yaqub and Saghar Ali Bakhtiari.
Its primary business address is noted as 2335 W Devon Ave, Suite 201, Chicago, with plans to collect funds from members and the local community.
This marks the first firm registered by PTI US under the leadership of Barrister Gohar Ali Khan. The document highlights that the previous seven firms registered by various volunteers and PTI US leaders had either PTI or Imran Khan as their foreign principal.
The agreement between the new firm and Barrister Gohar Ali Khan was signed on December 2. However, it is noted that there is currently no formal agreement outlining the duration, fee, and expenses between the registrant and the foreign principal.
