ISLAMABAD: In preparation for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) planned protest rally on Friday, the Islamabad administration has implemented strict security measures, sealing major entry points into the capital.
PTI is launching pro-judiciary protests in three cities of Punjab, culminating in a rally in Islamabad on October 4th. From prison, Imran Khan urged his supporters to gather at D-Chowk on Friday.
Key routes, including Margalla Road, 26 Number Chungi, and the Motorway, have been blocked by containers to ensure order. The Red Zone, which houses key government buildings, has also been sealed off by the police for security.
This protest is part of PTI’s broader campaign for the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law. Imran Khan emphasized the peaceful nature of the protests, stating, “We have always protested peacefully, but this system has failed to protect us.”
On Wednesday, a group of PTI lawyers departed from Lahore to join the protest. Some lawyers, including women, left GPO Chowk early in the morning, though no prominent figures were part of this convoy. They are participating to support constitutional supremacy and legal justice.
