Lahore/Karachi: Punjab Government Gives Rs46 Billion Relief on Electricity Bills
The Punjab government has decided to give a big relief to people by reducing their electricity bills by Rs46 billion. This decision was made in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. She said this is a big help for people and will make their lives easier.
The relief will be given to 2 million people in Punjab and Islamabad. The government will also start a project to give sustainable relief by using solar panels.
Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari criticized the decision, saying it’s not a long-term solution and will only help people for two months. He wants a permanent solution to reduce electricity costs.
Sindh Government to Study Punjab’s Relief Program
Bilawal directed the Sindh Chief Minister to study the Punjab government’s relief program and see if it can be implemented in Sindh. He also wants the federal government to support Sindh in reducing electricity costs.
Bilawal wants to use green energy options like solar and wind power to reduce electricity costs. He promised to give free electricity to low-income families in Sindh who use up to 300 units of power.
The Sindh government is already working on projects to generate cheap electricity, including the Thar coal project and three energy parks.
