LAHORE, September 24, 2025 – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved a special education package to support students belonging to flood-affected districts across the province.
Tuition and Admission Fees Waived
Under the package, one semester tuition fee has been waived for all students from flood-hit districts. In addition, admission fees for BS first-year students will also be exempted, easing the financial pressure on families still recovering from flood damages.
The relief applies to students from:

Extended Deadlines for Students
To facilitate admissions, the registration deadline for universities in these districts has been extended by 20 days. Similarly, the application deadline for the Hunarmand Scholarship has been extended by one month, giving more time to students struggling with documentation and financial constraints.
Maryam Nawaz Vows to Protect Students’ Education
While announcing the package, CM Maryam Nawaz stressed that education will not be compromised despite the devastation caused by floods.
“Despite the devastation caused by floods, I will not let the education of our boys and girls suffer,” she said.
She assured that the Punjab government is making all-out efforts for the rehabilitation of flood victims, including compensation for damages and long-term support measures.
