The Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has apprehended five suspected terrorists in intelligence-driven operations across Pakpattan, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, and Sahiwal. CTD officials reported a total of 179 operations, resulting in the capture of individuals, including Nadeem, a significant Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander in Pakpattan.
The arrests were accompanied by the confiscation of explosive materials, five detonators, two hand grenades, two improvised explosive devices, weapons, and cash. According to CTD, the detained individuals—Nadeem, Shehbaz, Khalid, Madni, and Salman—were allegedly plotting attacks on sensitive installations.
In addition, this week witnessed 769 combing operations, leading to the arrest of 82 suspects. Throughout these operations, 31,250 individuals underwent interrogation, as reported by a CTD spokesperson.
